The Don Berty Stage was built in the late 1980s and dedicated to Don Berty for his tireless effort on the Parks and Rec Board and Cecil Township. The original open stage had no roof so each year, Washington Federal Savings Bank provided their tent to cover the stage and protect performers from the weather such as Pittsburgh's own, The Tamburitzines. Once associated solely with Duquesne University, today, The Tamburitzines is an independent organization serving other colleges and universities in the Pittsburgh area.
